Armistice Centenary

CENTENARY OF ARMISTICE DAY 1918 - Sunday 11 November.

Start at 11:30am with lunch from 12:30pm.

After the Remembrance service at the War Memorial, get together in the village hall to commemorate the end of the Great War and also to celebrate the peace we enjoy now.

We will be creating a cascade of poppies.   Everyone, especially children, are welcome to make poppies in advance or come and make some on the day.  The best will be framed afterwards as a permanent memorial.  There will be an exhibition of historic photos and art (old or new) relating to Morden in the early 20th Century and also personal memories of loved ones involved in the War. Please look out any historical information and memorabilia that you would be willing to bring along and share.

Trench Stew (a substantial soup/stew with vegetables and corned beef made by the soldiers in the trenches) will be provided - please bring extras and puddings to share.
